Parent Guide — Minister Destiny Stand in Faith District
This guide stands inside the school, written for you — the parent or guardian of a teenager. Teenagers enter this school on their own and do their learning on their own, so this page is the short version for you: the rules, the certificate, and how you can support your teen. This is a virtual school — online only, with no building to visit.
Your part
- Your teen chooses their age honestly at the door. The choice is stored nowhere, and no birthdate is ever asked, collected, or verified.
- Your teen makes their own open access and student ID on their own device (see the Open Access page), under a name they choose — no real name is required — and keeps their own School File. There is no account and no sign-up, and the school stores nothing.
- Your part is the lighter one: know the rules on this page, and check in with your teen now and then. Your teen’s voice is never recorded or stored.
How learning works here
This school was built first for non-speaking and autistic teenagers: picture and symbol tapping available everywhere, “what happens next” shown first, predictable steps, no timers, calm screens — no flashing, strobing, or sudden change, which also protects students with epilepsy.
The ways to learn stand inside, all of them on the Ways to Learn page: voice and pictures, text and sign, a sign-first section, a sound path, motor access, gentle reading, and braille. A Quiet Corner is always reachable.
Tests and certificates
Testing happens inside this school, at your teen’s own pace. Answers are never shown. Finishing a course earns a Certificate of Completion, generated on the spot — the only certificate this family gives.
Your teen’s handbook explains the whole school in their own reading: The Handbook. Most teenagers read it themselves; you are welcome to read it too.
When your teen turns 18, this school hands them a bridge, not an ending — the Transition page inside this school explains how it works.
